Online Workshop Preparation

You are coming to an upcoming online workshop with Climate Clarity’s facilitators.

Online workshops bring different opportunities and challenges compared to in-person workshops: we reduce our carbon emissions by reducing travel, but we need to effectively communicate at a distance and manage additional skill to use online tools.

This page is all about getting you the best experience for an online workshop.

Use a laptop

Use a computer or laptop.
Do not try to participate via a tablet or smartphone.

Set up or test Zoom

We use Zoom as our video conferencing platform.
Complete a Zoom Test before the session to make sure your device is set up correctly.

Get to know Mural

We use Mural as our platform for collaboration.

To get up to speed before the training, you must complete the Mural Tutorial.

Follow the steps below:

  • Open this Mural Tutorial link
  • Sign up for a free Mural account
  • Hit the red button that says “New Mural From Template”
  • Zoom in and follow the missions outlined to build your Mural skills.

If you have a policy at work that prevents you from creating an account, you can use this Mural tutorial instead and enter as a visitor with no sign-in.

Find a space where you can speak easily

Join from somewhere you will not be disturbed, and where you can speak freely. The workshop is participatory and you will be discussing with others.

Remove distractions

Give yourself the best conditions for learning by removing distractions.
Block out your calendar, set an auto-response email and close down any messaging or communications apps that will distract you.

Thanks for completing these steps.
See you at the workshop
