We’re happy to announce something we’ve been working on for a little while, here at Climate Clarity: a new community Fresking project! With a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund, we’ve been working with the UK Climate Emergency Centre network to launch a new climate education initiative.
The project is now well underway and we have our first graduates from the Fresk training program. A team of volunteers from Totnes Climate Emergency Centre has become the first to complete the process and become practising Climate Fresk facilitators!

The team of 8 succeeded in:
- Participating in a Climate Fresk workshop
- Training to become official Climate Fresk facilitators
- Running their first Climate Fresk workshop (coached by a Climate Clarity pro)
Congratulations to the Totnes cohort! The first Fresk is the hardest. Now, the team can use the workshop to engage the public and partners on climate issues in an interactive and fun way.
As more cohorts complete the fresking training, we will connect the new facilitator teams to form a UK-wide peer-support network of CEC Freskers to support future collaboration.
The National Lottery grant means we can run more free community Fresks than we could otherwise afford. While we run a variety of free workshops (see our events calendar), we are limited by cost. Thanks to this funding, 21 more Climate Fresk workshops and 8 facilitator trainings will take place, benefiting hundreds of people.
Rosie Deane has been at the helm of the project, working with groups across the country to empower people of all ages on everything climate.
We believe passionately that everyone should be able to access high quality climate education and information, as it’s an issue that affects us all. It’s not an easy topic to talk about and we want to help you make a positive start, whether with your colleagues, friends, or community.
