Why come to a Climate Fresk?
If you’re worried about climate change or concerned it might affect you or your children, a Climate Fresk is a great way to empower yourself with the knowledge and community connections you need to do something about it. It can be a big relief to meet people who share your fears and want to take action together.
This game-based workshop has been enjoyed by over 400,000 people around the world. It’s a popular format because it lays out the big picture of what is happening to our planet in a clear, visual way. Once you’ve got a handle on the systems at play, you’re invited to share how this information affects you personally: fear, anger, blame, hope – these are all welcome. The final step moves us into action and we get creative together. By the end, you should have a clearer idea of some next steps you can take and some friendly faces to join up with.
Who is this for?
This event is truly open to anyone and everyone. All that we ask is that you bring an open mind and a willingness to play along in a cooperative game. This means sharing space together and learning from others. And, ideally, turning up on time!
If you’re not sure, bring a friend for support or give us a ring on {insert number} to discuss any concerns or access needs you might have.
What on Earth is a Climate Fresk?
The Climate Fresk is a workshop that has swept across Europe and is now reaching the UK. It’s based on the most recent IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) report that outlines the state of our changing planet, as the top scientists in the world understand it.
The Fresk takes the key points from the 1300-page IPCC report and puts them into a card game that anyone can play. This way, you don’t need a PHD in meteorology to understand what all this climate change business is about and what you can do about it.
Plus, it is actually quite fun!
Come along and see what the fuss is about. You might learn something and meet a new friend or two!
