DESCRIPTION:A fast-paced workshop to understand today’s energy challenges\nThe Energy Collage aims to fuel a well-informed and nuanced debate about energy\, so that the world can choose the best course of action that respects planetary boundaries as quickly as possible. \nFun\, engaging and playful\nThis modular\, 3-hour workshop uses cards and collective intelligence to get everyone playing and learning.\nInterspersed with the graphs and data are metaphors and thought experiments about bread-supply-chains\, cyclists powering the country\, and firehoses\, plus regular moments to pause and respond to a quiz question. \nLearn key concepts\nEnergy Collage aims to unpack the concepts of energy\, power\, abundance\, energy conversion chains\, energy density and the pros and cons of different energy sources in a playful and meaningful way.\nWe will:\n🛢️ See the major changes in society due to the rise of fossil fuels.\n🛢️ Explore the hyper-powerful machines that have displaced much of human labour.\n🛢️ Derive the overall efficiency for different types of vehicles.\n🛢️ Map out the carbon intensity and energy density of energy sources for electricity.\n🛢️ Match and identify the advantages\, limits and drawbacks of different energy sources.\n🛢️ Discuss constraints on energy system choice beyond simply “good” or “bad” for the climate.\n🛢️ Design and present your own idealised energy system. \nFind out more about the workshop content here. \nCreated by experts\nEnergy Collage is developed by the “La Fresque De L’Energie” association and its community.\nClimate Clarity is a key partner in the internationalisation of this workshop. \nThis workshop will be delivered online\, so make sure to prepare for this workshop using our online workshop preparation page.
